It only takes a single spore.
The rot is structural now.
It’s taken hold of this house.
Beams replaced with tendrils,
floors now gaping maws.
To burn it out would be to
bring the whole facade
crashing to the ground.
But why destroy something
that opened itself so to nature?
That threw open its windows
and screamed to be alive?
You see this rot as unnatural.
I see it as how it always
should have been.
